LISTOWEL — Christmas may still be a couple months away, but that sense of holiday spirit was already very much in the air at the headquarters of Community Living North Perth on Oct. 24.
A dozen CLNP clients and staff members were doing their best impression of an elf assembly line on Wednesday night, packing 100 boxes in support of Samaritan’s Purse International Relief and Operation Christmas Child. It marked the first time that CLNP decided to help out with the initiative. School supplies, toys, toiletries and other useful items for less fortunate kids living in war, poverty and disaster around the world were all included in the makeup of the boxes, which will be collected later in November by Operation Christmas Child.
All of the items that went into the boxes were donated by CLNP clients, staff, board members and supporters of the organization, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in the community this year. The local Operation Christmas Child initiative is being conducted in conjunction with the Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church.
